In today’s world, many of us possess limited knowledge about the intricacies of the female body. This lack of understanding contributes to a range of prevalent reproductive health issues. Women frequently face challenges such as menopausal symptoms, endometriosis, severe menstrual pain or heavy bleeding, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), fibroids, breast lumps, discomfort during puberty, delayed periods, amenorrhea, and scanty menstruation. These concerns are significant and widespread, highlighting the urgent need for greater awareness and education regarding women’s health.

The Constant Attack on Women’s Health

For years, women have been misled by healthcare professionals regarding the use of oral contraceptives. They have been assured that the pill will “regulate their cycle” or “clear up their acne.” However, the reality is that these medications can cause significant hormonal disruptions and even alter attraction patterns. Our attractions are fundamentally rooted in our biology, and when our hormones are chemically disrupted, it can have a profound impact on our relationships and desires. While the initial effects of the pill may seem beneficial—lighter periods and clearer skin—many women soon experience irregular cycles or even complete cessation of menstruation. Alarmingly, some women may find that their periods do not return after discontinuing the pill, raising serious fertility concerns. It is particularly troubling that many women are prescribed the pill for issues unrelated to their menstrual cycle without being adequately informed about the potential hormonal consequences. While some may find the pill helpful, the plethora of negative experiences and side effects cannot be overlooked. Fortunately, there are far more effective and natural alternatives for managing menstrual health, such as cycle tracking and herbal remedies.

It is also extremely alarming to discover that numerous brands of tampons and other menstrual products, relied upon by millions of women annually, are laced with significant amounts of bleach and harmful heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium, and lead (as if v@cc!nes weren’t enough of an attack). The presence of these toxic substances in such widely used products is not only shocking but also poses a serious health risk, as this area of the body can absorb these dangerous chemicals more readily. This exposure can result in a myriad of health issues, making it crucial to prioritize the use of organic menstrual products for better health and safety.

The Cycle

Let’s delve deeper into the topic of menstruation. Most females begin their menstrual cycles between the ages of 10 and 16. We can break down the menstrual cycle into four distinct phases: menstrual, follicular, luteal and ovulatory.

Menstruation usually spans 5 to 8 days, a period during which the body expels endometrial cells, blood, and mucus from the uterus. This phase often brings about lower energy levels, making it essential to focus on relaxation and self-care. During this time, estrogen and progesterone levels drop significantly as the body acknowledges that pregnancy has not occurred, triggering hormonal shifts that lead to the shedding of the uterine lining. Additionally, the cycle alternates between the ovaries, leading to varying symptoms with each cycle.

The follicular phase marks a time when estrogen and progesterone levels begin to rise, prompting the uterus to regenerate its endometrial lining in preparation for a potential fertilized egg. Following this, ovulation takes place, which not only boosts libido but also elevates progesterone levels—this hormone is crucial as it keeps the body in a state of readiness for pregnancy. Notably, ovulation is the sole period in the menstrual cycle when conception can happen. A reliable method to monitor this phase is by measuring basal body temperature each morning; you’ll notice a slight dip just before ovulation, followed by a rise of a few tenths of a degree afterward.

Next comes the luteal phase. In this stage, estrogen levels begin low, gradually increase, and then decrease before menstruation. This phase is driven by luteinizing hormone, which acts as a supportive force for the egg, leading to the formation of the corpus luteum. This structure is responsible for producing significant amounts of progesterone, derived from the cells of the follicle wall. If fertilization does not take place, the corpus luteum disintegrates, resulting in a drop in estrogen and progesterone levels, ultimately leading to menstruation, and the cycle repeats.

Emotional Body

Many problems relating to the reproductive system have emotional roots. Women possess a remarkable emotional depth, allowing us to experience feelings with incredible intensity. While this can be a beautiful gift, it can also become challenging, particularly when we find ourselves caught in repetitive emotional loops/patterns. Many mothers experience moments of self-doubt, questioning their abilities and feeling as though they are not doing enough for their children. They often wonder when they will feel confident in their parenting. On the other hand, young women and teenagers, while searching for love, may find themselves doubting their future as mothers or their chances of finding a caring partner, not feeling good enough, especially about appearance. Additionally, women frequently encounter various forms of emotional and sexual trauma throughout their lives, which can exacerbate feelings of insecurity. This ongoing struggle with self-worth and the difficulty in moving past certain experiences can lead to various health issues, including infertility, menstrual discomfort, skin problems, menopausal symptoms, breast lumps, cysts, fetal defects, and depression. It is crucial to focus on healing these aspects of oneself.
